World Wrestling Entertainment Names Jay Li As VP And GM For Greater China

World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. WWE revealed the appointment of Jay Li as its VP and General Manager for Greater China to be located in Shanghai. Li was a senior executive and held several leadership positions in some important industries in China, as well as, the America.

According to the company, Li would report to its EVP International, Ed Wells, directly. He would lead the company's tactical business development initiatives, as well as day-to-day operations in China. Li would work in conjunction with the local government authorities and partners in all of WWE's lines of the business. That included live events, marketing, television, sponsorship, licensing, merchandising, and new media.

WWE President, Gerrit Meier, said "China is strategically important for WWE and we are confident that Jay will help successfully develop our brand and business in the market. We remain committed to expanding WWE internationally, and our presence in China is critical to the company's future growth."

Li also held executive roles at IBM, as well as Andersen Consulting, LLP. He graduated summa cum laude from Middlebury College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Politics and Economics.
