Assurant Hires Ajay Waghray As Chief Technology Officer

disclosed the hiring of Ajay Waghray as its Chief Technology Officer effective May 9. He would also be entrusted a role in the management committee also. He would drive technology tactics and align its IT with business objectives in its global enterprise. The company's President and CEO, Alan Colberg, said "Ajay's management experience and technical expertise will be critical as we accelerate digital innovation, enhance efficiency and implement our multi-year transformation across the enterprise." He added that "Ajay understands how to leverage the power of technology to unlock a company's potential to drive high performance. His strong track record as a technology leader makes him a great addition to our leadership team." Assurant said that Waghray would report to the CEO and would be stationed in Atlanta. Reacting to the appointment, the incumbent said that "I am excited to be joining Assurant at such an important time during the company's transformation. I look forward to working with Assurant's strong IT team to help the company leverage technology to its full potential and to drive innovation throughout the enterprise." On Wednesday, the stock traded in the red with a loss of 0.15%.
