DTE Energy Co
DTE said, in a statement to the media, that it was creating 120 fresh jobs for Detroit to help staff in expanding customer call center in its downtown headquarters. According to the company, it would align with Strategic Staffing Solutions (S3) as that would be responsible for hiring and managing the new employees. The company expressed its confidence that it would develop new skills with its on-the-job training providing employment opportunity to the locals.
DTE Energy President and COO, Jerry Norcia, said that "As a Detroit-based company for more than 100 years, we're pleased to be able to offer new, meaningful opportunities to Detroiters". He added that "As a major employer in the Detroit community, we want to continue to be part of the revitalization of the city. Creating jobs through collaboration only furthers this effort."
Strategic Staffing Solutions founder and CEO, Cynthia Pasky, said that "DTE Energy and S3 are committed to growing Detroit, and that means keeping call center jobs such as these in the City, and not locate them out-of-state or overseas".
On Wednesday, the stock fell 1.03%.
