Lumber Liquidators Having Huge Double-Digit Day After Prop 65 Lawsuit Win

Lumber Liquidators Holdings Inc LL surged as much as 17 percent after the hardwood flooring retailer said the judge ruled in favor of the company in the proposition 65 lawsuit in California.

The proposition 65 law requires companies such as Lumber Liquidators to publish a list of chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm in their products.

In a press release, the company said, "Over the past several months, we have made tremendous progress in strengthening Lumber Liquidators across every area of our organization. We have implemented significant enhancements to our sourcing and compliance practices, and we look forward to continuing to deliver products that are compliant with California's environmental standards. We are committed to operating with integrity and delivering quality products to our customers."

Shares of Lumber Liquidators were last up 11.3 percent at $14.27. They were down 16 percent this year.
