• Chesapeake Energy Corporation CHK, up 19.2 percent
• Transocean LTD RIG, up 17.36 percent

Some of the top decliners in the index were:

• EQT Corporation EQT, down 5.6 percent
• H & R Block Inc HRB, down 15.62 percent

The Nasdaq 100 index surged 0.19 percent on Friday trading.

Some of the top gainers in the index were:

• Skyworks Solutions Inc SWKS, up 4.15 percent
• Netflix, Inc. NFLX, up 3.73 percent

Some of the top decliners in the index were:

• BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. BMRN, down 3.24 percent
• Mattel, Inc. MAT, down 2.3 percent
