BP Forecasts The World Out To 2035: Sees U.S. Doubling Oil Production, Cars To Average 50 MPG

BP plc (ADR) BP is hosting a conference Wednesday morning to discuss the company's energy outlook. The outlook is carried out to 2035.

BP expects the U.S. double oil production by 2020 to 8 million barrels/per day. BP is forecasting global GDP to more than double 2035. Global population is expected to grow by 1.5 billion people to a total of 8.8 billion by 2035.

Other notable forecasts:

  • Global Vehicle Fleet to double to 2.4 billion by 2035 from ~1.2 billion today.
  • Miles Per Gallon for average passenger care is expected to be 50 compared with 30 MPG today.
