's 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' film. IMAX stated on Monday that its total worldwide ticket sales for the 'Star Wars' film reached $200 million within 35 days of the film's release. The company also added that at $207.5 million in global ticket sales, the film now stands as its second-highest grossing title ever, behind 'Avatar' which collected $243 million in global ticket sales. IMAX noted that its total U.S. ticket sales for the 'Star Wars' film totaled $120 million and is being shown at 391 IMAX theaters. "It's been an incredible ride ever since Star Wars: The Force Awakens blasted into IMAX theatres across the globe, setting numerous records and resonating with audiences the world over," said Greg Foster, Senior Executive Vice President, IMAX Corp. and CEO of IMAX Entertainment. "The IMAX presentation of The Force Awakens truly was a singular experience — with key footage in the film shot with IMAX cameras — and we could not be more proud to have been part of this historic release."
