VMware: Collaboration With Intel Security Will Deliver A 'Complete Mobile Security Solution'

were trading higher by more than 1.5 percent late Tuesday morning after the company
announced an expansion of its collaboration with Intel Corporation INTC to develop mobile security solutions. VMware is now a member of the Intel Security Innovation Alliance, a technology partner program that "streamlines integration and accelerates the development of interoperable solutions" by Intel and its partners. As part of the new arrangement, VMware and Intel Security will offer joint capabilities to their mutual customers, including sharing advanced mobility data through the McAfee Data Exchange Layer. VMware noted that its alliance with Intel addresses 3 "vital" areas of enterprise security, including data protection, threat detection and prevention and security management with integrated workflows. "To drive mobile business transformation, organizations need their foundational security elements they already leverage across their enterprise work seamlessly across their mobility assets," said Noah Wasmer, vice president of mobile engineering and product management, End-User Computing, VMware. "This partnership with Intel Security will help deliver more a complete mobile security solution and affirms our commitment to making the shift to the mobile-cloud era seamless for our customers. Through McAfee Data Exchange Layer, enterprises will be empowered to communicate essential threat intelligence that can help drive faster response and remediation." "We are pleased to add VMware to the Intel Security Innovation Alliance and to join the AirWatch Mobile Security Alliance," said D.J. Long, head of the Intel Security Innovation Alliance.
