reported
after Monday's business close that it has completed its acquisition of all the issued and outstanding capital stock of the Environmental Disposal Corporation, a waste-water utility company based in New Jersey. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed. Following the completion of the acquisition, American Water Works will begin servicing EDC's more than 5,300 customer accounts in New Jersey and waste-water treatment services in various boroughs. "Our operational and engineering expertise, familiarity with the service territory and dedication to customer service, as well as our commitment to make the necessary capital investments to meet or surpass state and federal standards, will ensure that these new customers will continue to receive exceptional wastewater service," Susan Story, president and CEO of American Water said in the company's press release.
