US Stock Futures Decline Ahead Of Economic Data

US stock futures traded lower in early pre-market trade. The Producer Price Index for August will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while the University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index for September will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. The U.S. Treasury budget report for August will be released at 2:00 p.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 40.5 points to 16,265.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 6.55 points to 1,942.95. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index slipped 20.90 points to 4,274.10.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 0.86 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.75 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 0.84 percent. French CAC 40 Index slipped 0.72 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.19 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average declined 0.19 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index slipped 0.27 percent, China's Composite Index Index rose 0.07 percent and India's BSE Sensex declined 0.05 percent.
