US Stock Futures Signal Higher Start On Wall Street

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on consumer credit for July will be released at 3:00 p.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 296 points to 16,415.0, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 36.70 points to 1,958.45. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index surged 78.90 points to 4,272.90.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 1.58 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index gaining 2.05 percent and German DAX 30 index surging 2.38 percent. French CAC 40 Index jumped 2.01 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index climbed 1.79 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 2.43 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index surged 3.28 percent, China's Composite Index Index gained 2.92 percent and India's BSE Sensex climbed 1.70 percent.
