US Stock Futures Signal Lower Start On Wall Street

US stock futures traded lower in early pre-market trade. The Chicago PMI for August will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET, while the Dallas Fed manufacturing index for August will be released at 10:30 a.m. ET. Data on farm prices for August will be released at 3:00 p.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 127.5 points to 16,531.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 15.25 points to 1,974.50. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index dropped 29 points to 4,304.00.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 0.57 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index falling 0.04 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 0.49 percent. French CAC 40 Index slipped 0.60 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 1.28 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 0.27 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.82 percent and India's BSE Sensex declined 0.41 percent.
