US Stock Futures Point To Lower Open

US stock futures traded lower in early pre-market trade. The U.S. Treasury budget data for July will be released at 2:00 p.m. ET.

are expected to report quarterly earnings before the closing bell. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 144.5 points to 17,210.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 17.30 points to 2,062.45. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index declined 38.15 points to 4,472.60.

European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 1.43 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index dropping 1.86 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 2.00 percent. French CAC 40 Index slipped 2.12 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 1.15 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 1.58 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined 2.38 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.06 percent and India's BSE Sensex fell 1.27 percent.

Analysts at Morgan Stanley upgraded

to Overweight. Google shares gained 0.71 percent to $695.20 in pre-market trading.
