GSIT
today announced a broad expansion of the 3rd-generation SigmaQuad-IIIe™ & SigmaDDR-IIIe™ memory families with 144Mbit and 288Mbit densities ready for general customer sampling. The GS81313 (144Mbit) and GS82583 (288Mbit) devices are drop-in compatible upgrades to GSI's flagship 72Mbit IIIe SRAMs. They use the same 260-ball BGA footprint and proven IIIe timing protocols, and provide sustained performance of up to 1.5 billion random transactions per second. These new 40nm devices offer considerable power savings over the 65nm 72Mb versions, and their low 1.2 V~1.3 V core voltage provides substantial power savings over second generation type II/II+ devices that utilize a 1.8 V core voltage. GSI also offers free, validated FPGA controller IP that can be used with the entire IIIe family of SRAMs, making it easy for the system designer to incorporate the SRAMs into a wide variety of FPGA-based applications. "One thing is certain," said Lee-Lean Shu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GSI Technology. "Our packet and image processing customers are absolutely starved for more statistical memory capacity. We have already delivered samples to our alpha customer partners for evaluation." Samples of both densities are now available. Additional information on SigmaQuad™ and SigmaDDR™ SRAMs can be found at http://www.gsitechnology.com/sigmaquad-srams and http://www.gsitechnology.com/sigmaddr-srams, respectively.
