Murray Christmas! Bill Murray Is Coming To Netflix

"Join Bill Murray and friends for A Very Murray Christmas. Coming to Netflix."

That about sums it up. The legendary actor is apparently bringing his comedy pals to Netflix, Inc. NFLX in December, according to a video released by the company on YouTube Friday morning.

Murray was most recently seen this week on David Letterman's final two episodes of "Late Show" on CBS.

Netflix has produced an ever-increasing amount of original content recently. Dramas like "House of Cards" and "Orange Is The New Black" have brought critical and commercial success to the streaming service over the last few years. In 2015 alone, two new comedy hits made their Netflix debut: Tina Fey's "Kimmy Schmidt" and the Jane Fonda/Lily Tomlin series "Grace and Frankie."

The actor made a name for himself in the 1970s at Chicago's Second City and NBC's "Saturday Night Live." After a string a box office glory in the 1980s and 1990s, Murray has lent his talents to the indie scene over the last 15 years. He nabbed his first Oscar nomination for 2003's "Lost In Translation."

In addition to his on-screen success, Murray has built a cult following to an even younger generation of fans who may not have grown up with his work. He famously shows up at random soccer games, parties and seemingly any other random situation.

Shares of Netflix are up more than 82 percent ($281) in 2015.
