US Stock Futures Edge Lower Ahead Of Economic Data

US stock futures traded slightly lower in early pre-market trade. Data on weekly jobless claims and the Chicago Fed activity index for April will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. The PMI manufacturing index for May will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET. Data on existing home sales for April and leading indicators for April will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. The Kansas City Fed manufacturing index for May will be released at 11:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 14.50 points to 18,241.50, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures slipped 2.35 points to 2,120.15. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index dipped 9.40 points to 4,496.10.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were mixed today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 0.16 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index gaining 0.05 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 0.37 percent. French CAC 40 Index slipped 0.25 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.05 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.03 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index climbed 1.87 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dropped 0.22 percent and India's BSE Sensex slipped 0.10 percent.
