ADT Corp ADT announced last Thursday that it would team up with LG Electronics Inc. (KRX: 066570) and Nest, owned by Google Inc GOOG GOOGL, to deliver new solutions to its residential and business customer base.

In a press release, ADT said that its new alliance with  LG Electronics would deliver “groundbreaking ‘All-In-One’ smart security coupled with ADT security services; and a partnership with Nest to integrate its acclaimed Nest Learning Thermostat into ADT’s Pulse® ecosystem.”

Dan Thorp-Lancaster at androidcentral.com said that “it looks like ADT is set to position its Pulse app as the one-stop-shop for your home automation needs.”

The LG Smart Security product was expected to be released in that fall and would combine secure ADT monitoring and video hosting with a security camera gateway solution.

Byung-hoon Min, LG Senior Vice President and Head of its Convergence Audio-Video business, stated, “As LG smart technologies help drive the IoT, we see home security and professional monitoring as the connective tissue tying together the smart home. By collaborating with a leader like ADT to create a unique connected home security product, we will deliver best-in-class product innovations and services to consumers.”

ADT’s integration with Google’s Nest was expected in the summer. ADT CEO Naren Gursahaney believed that bringing LG and Nest into its ecosystem allowed “ADT to help define the future of home and business security and automation” for millions of customers.

ADT Corp recently traded at $37.38, down 0.16 percent.
