US Stock Futures Edge Lower Ahead Of Housing Market Index

US stock futures traded slightly lower in early pre-market trade. The housing market index for May will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 7.50 points to 18,221.50, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 2.35 points to 2,116.65. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index slipped 7.85 points to 4,480.90.

European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 0.71 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.44 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 0.09 percent. French CAC 40 Index slipped 0.76 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.19 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.80 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.59 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined 0.83 percent and India's BSE Sensex jumped 1.33 percent.
