US Stock Futures Surge Ahead Of Jobless Claims - Prestige Consumer (NYSE:PBH)

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on weekly jobless claims and the Producer Price Index for April will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 74 points to 18,089.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 9.15 points to 2,103.65. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 21.95 points to 4,445.70.

European markets were mixed today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.06 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index dropping 0.11 percent and German DAX 30 index gaining 0.07 percent. French CAC 40 Index rose 0.01 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.06 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 0.98 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.06 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 0.14 percent and India's BSE Sensex slipped 0.17 percent.
