The following are the M&A deals, rumors and chatter circulating on Wall Street for Monday April 6, 2015:
Hearing Renewed Takeover Chatter in Cree The Rumor:
Shares of Cree CREE, rose Monday on renewed unconfirmed market chatter of a potential offer for the LED lighting company. General Electric GE has been mentioned as a potential buyer on several occasions. A Cree spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment. Cree gained more than 1% Monday, closing at $34.49. Two PE Consortia in Talks to Buy Informatica, According to Sources The Deal:
Shares of Informatica surged higher on a report BSX from Reuters Monday, that two private equity consortia have submitted bids for the enterprise software company. A consortium of Permira Advisers and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, and Thoma Bravo LLC, in partnership with Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, submitted bids for Informatica last week, according to sources. A third potential bidder group, Silver Lake Partners LP and Hellman & Friedman did not yet submit an offer, but may do so if certain conditions are met. Informatica declined comment on the rumor. Informatica shares closed at $45.83 Monday, a gain of more than 3.5%. Intel May Pursue Broadcom Instead of Altera The Rumor:
Shares of Broadcom Corp. BRCM spiked higher Monday, following unusual call activity. Jim Cramer tweeted that the large May call buyer might mean that someone believes Intel Corporation INTC is pursuing Broadcom and not Altera Corp. ALTR, as the Wall Street Journal reported on March 27. A spokesperson for Broadcom was not immediately available for comment. Broadcom shares gained 2% Monday, closing at $43.10. Altera lost 4%, closing at $41.21
