Alaska Airlines names Jay Gupta Managing Director of Infrastructure and Modern Platforms

Jay Gupta joined Alaska Airlines as managing director of infrastructure and modern platforms in its Information and Technology Services division. Gupta is responsible for strategy, implementation and operations for the airline's data centers, airports, call centers and mobile employees. "Jay brings with him over 18 years of IT experience and a track record of delivering operational excellence and setting strategic technology direction to align with corporate vision and financial goals," said Kris Kutchera, the airline's vice president of information technology. "He will help us continue to grow our services to our customers as we strive to become the easiest airline to fly." For the last four years, Gupta was senior director of infrastructure with Thomson Reuters, managing the global infrastructure for its revenue-generating and customer-facing products. Prior to that he served as information technology director for Oracle leading its global Cloud Services initiatives. Gupta has a bachelor's degree from Calcutta University, in India and will graduate in May 2015 with an Executive MBA from Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
