US Stock Futures Edge Higher; All Eyes On Jobs Report

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on nonfarm payroll employment for January will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while consumer credit data for December will be released at 3:00 p.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 28 points to 17,812.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 2.90 points to 2,058.00. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 4.75 points to 4,252.25.

European markets were mostly lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.14%, STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.14% and German DAX 30 index falling 0.58%. French CAC 40 Index declined 0.29% and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.25%. French trade deficit widened to 3.45 billion euros ($3.93 billion) in December, compared to EUR3.09 billion in November. German industrial output gained 0.1% on the month in December. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.82%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.35%, China's Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.93% and India's BSE Sensex tumbled 0.46%.

Analysts at B Riley downgraded

from Buy to Neutral. The price target for Pandora Media has been lowered from $38 to $12.50. Pandora Media's shares dipped 22.22% to $14.32 in pre-market trading.
