Bitcoin received another boost on Wednesday morning after news that payments made using the cryptocurrency could soon be accepted at some of the world’s largest companies.

BitPay, a bitcoin payment platform, announced another victory for the currency’s adoption on Tuesday, saying that payment processing company Adyen had integrated BitPay’s services into its offerings.

Adyen Deal Positive For Bitcoin Adoption

Adyen operates a payments platform that focuses on e-commerce and has several high profile clients, all of which will now have access to BitPay services.

The announcement helped push bitcoin’s value nearly 7 percent higher as investors took the integration as an indication of growing interest in the cryptocurrency among merchants.

Jagex Leads The Pack

UK-based gaming company Jagex will be the first of Adyen’s clients to accept bitcoin payments, but rumors are circulating that bigger names like Ryanair Holdings PLC RYAAY or Facebook Inc. FB or  will be soon to follow.

Is Bitcoin Too Big To Fail?

Adyen Partnership A Giant Leap

BitPay has already been adopted by several big name companies like Microsoft Corp. MSFT and Virgin Galactic, but this partnership with Adyen is being touted as the company’s largest step forward to date.

Because Adyen already manages payment platforms for over 3,500 companies around the world, bitcoin adoption will be exponentially easier for companies that choose to make the switch.
