3D Systems Plans To Be The Industry's '800 lb Gorilla' In Response To Takeover Rumors

Shares of 3D Systems Corporation DDD were volatile Tuesday amid rumors that the firm may targeted for a takeover.'

The company indicated that its strategy has not changed in response to the takeover chatter. A 3D Systems spokesperson told Benzinga, "We plan to continue to be leaders and innovators and grow to be one of the 800 lb gorillas in the industry."

Shares spiked from $28.40 to $29.98 around 10 a.m. Tuesday before giving back most of the gain.

3D Systems recently traded at $29.07, up 1 percent.
