The Priceline Group
announced a series of changes today to the management teams of two of
its operating businesses – Booking.com and rentalcars.com – as part of an
ongoing commitment to align top talent with operating priorities. The changes
will become effective January 1, 2015 and include:
o Booking.com - Gillian Tans has been named President and Chief Operating
Officer of Booking.com and will assume responsibility for the day-to-day
operations of the global, Netherlands-based accommodation booking
business. Darren Huston, President & CEO of The Priceline Group and CEO
of Booking.com, will continue in his joint role, but with increased focus
on talent development and driving long-term growth across Booking.com and
The Group. Tans has been serving as Chief Operating Officer of Booking.com
since 2011, working already in close cooperation with Huston to help
expand Booking.com's global business, having joined the company in 2002.
o Booking.com - David Vismans has been named the Chief Product Officer of
Booking.com where he will oversee global, cross-platform product strategy
for Booking.com as it continues to lead the industry in driving
innovations that enhance the consumer travel experience. Vismans has been
with Booking.com since 2012 serving as Director, Front End.
o Rentalcars.com - Ian Brown has been named CEO of rentalcars.com, The
Group's global, UK-based online rental car reservations business. Brown
joined the company in 2014 as Chief Operating Officer. Current CEO and
co-founder, Greg Wills, will transition into the role of Executive
Chairman where he will continue to drive strategic growth initiatives for
the company. Prior to joining rentalcars.com, Brown was a partner at
Oliver Wyman.
"Growth at The Priceline Group has been driven by strong day-to-day execution
across markets and brands steered by leaders who understand what it takes to
build great products and services for our customers and partners worldwide,"
said Darren Huston, President & CEO of The Group. "Today's appointments
reflect the continued evolution of our company and the natural progression of
our strong and deep talent base."
"I also want to thank Greg for the amazing success we have had with the
rentalcars.com business over the past few years and for his commitment to
continue forward as Executive Chairman to help Ian and his team take the
business to new heights," said Huston.
