Speaking to Benzinga, Talented Blonde President and Retail Analyst Kristin Bentz offered a couple examples of retail industry veterans who might be good to replace departing Abercrombie & Fitch Co. ANF CEO Michael Jeffries.
The first name she mentioned was former Guess?, Inc. GES CEO Carlos Alberini. He now serves as a director for Restoration Hardware Holdings RH and was previously the CEO.
She explained that Alberini understands the consumer that Abercrombie is marketing to.
“He’s a brilliant merchant and a smart guy,” she said. “He could come in, and the stock would go bananas.”
Another name Bentz said might work for Abercrombie is former Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc. PSUN CEO Seth Johnson. He’s also a former CFO and COO of Abercrombie, as well as a member of the board for bebe stores, inc. BEBE.
“He totally gets it. He understands the pre- and post-Abercrombie,” she said.
