US Stock Futures Up Ahead Of Economic Data, Earnings

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. The Federal Open Market Committee will begin its 2-day meeting today. Data on Durable goods orders for September will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index for August will be released at 9:00 a.m. ET. The Conference Board's consumer confidence index for October and The Richmond Fed manufacturing index for October will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 73 points to 16,829.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 9.80 points to 1,966.90. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index surged 23 points to 4,061.25.

European markets were higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 1.59%, STOXX Europe 600 Index gaining 0.93%. German DAX 30 index climbed 1.49%, French CAC 40 Index rose 0.51% and London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.53%. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dropped 0.38%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 1.63%, China's Shanghai Composite Index jumped 2.07% and India's Sensex rose 0.48%.

Analysts at Nomura downgraded Twitter

from Buy to Neutral. The price target for Twitter has been lowered from $55.00 to $45.00. Twitter's shares fell 12.27% to $42.60 in pre-market trading
