Third quarter GDP is set to be released Thursday Morning, with expectations of a 3.0 percent increase. Last quarter showed a strong 4.6 percent rise in GDP, following a very disappointing decline of 2.1 percent in the first quarter of this year.
The Q3 GDP number could be an important barometer to whether the strong growth seen in last quarter is sustainable or not, especially given that quantitative easing is winding down. With European growth slowing to near recession levels and China growth finally seeing signs of fatigue, it is even more important now for the US to continue to exhibit signs of growth.
