3D Systems Corp. Profit Warning Drags Down Peers

Stocks in the 3D printing sector fell Wednesday after market leader 3D Systems Corp.

warned investors that its third quarter results will be lower than expected. The Rock Hill, S.C. company blamed the shortfall partly on manufacturing capacity constraints for its direct metals printers and a resulting delay in its newest consumer products. 3D put third-quarter earnings at between $0.16 cents and $0.19 cents a share, on revenue between $164 million and $169 million, versus analysts' expectations for $0.21 cents a share on revenue of $186 million. 3D fell more than 15 percent in afternoon trading Wednesday, to $36.85 a share. dropped 4 percent to $13.02 a share. The company is expected to post earnings Nov. 13. ExOne Co.,

expected to post results Nov. 12, was off nearly 4 percent to $20.72 a share. Stratasys, Ltd.

declined 3 percent to $116.35, with earnings expected Nov. 6. Materialise NV
MTLS
shares were holding on, down just 0.4 percent at $10.25. Results are expected Nov. 13.
