Energy Focus, Inc.
EFOI
, a leader in LED lighting technologies, announces the official opening of its new sales and support office for Washington, D.C. The new office, with a showroom for the company's products, is located at 251 18th Street, Crystal City, Virginia, and will house local sales personnel and infrastructure and provide training and technical support functions primarily for military, Federal government and Energy Services Companies (ESCOs) clients. The opening of the new office comes on the heels of the closure of the company's Nashville office, where the company's ESCO lighting solutions business was based. The move is consistent with Energy Focus' strategic goal to exit the turnkey solution business and to focus completely on LED lighting product sales to the government and commercial sectors. The new D.C. office is an essential part and natural progression of Energy Focus' dedication to addressing the opportunities in the U.S. government ecosystems and to offering the highest level of service to clients based in the D.C. region. Since September, Energy Focus has received its two largest orders in its history totaling over $15.6 million to provide LED lighting products to U.S. Navy vessels. The company continues to witness expanding interest and a growing sales pipeline from the government sector. Energy Focus' products are now also listed on the GSA Schedules for direct purchases by a broad range of government entities. "We have been working relentlessly with our senior military and government advisors in Washington, D.C. for the past year to build our access and network toward being a trusted LED lighting partner for the government," says Eric Hilliard, President and Chief Operating Officer. "This new office offers a complete and convenient platform for service, sales, training and support for our government clients." "Our expanding success and strengthening bond with the military departments, as well as accelerating push into the Federal ESCO market, has made the D.C. office an exciting necessity and a timely boost to our ongoing efforts to penetrate the government sector," said James Tu, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "In addition, with the closure of the Nashville office and opening of the D.C. office, we have now completed our transition toward an all-product LED lighting company. We are now positioned to be working and partnering seamlessly with ESCOs and lighting retrofit companies to bring our leading LED lighting products to U.S. government entities worldwide and help them achieve aggressive sustainability goals. We also expect to improve our margins further by shifting our solutions opportunities to product sales in the current and coming quarters without impacting our annual and sequential sales growth targets."
