Report: Actavis, Sanofi To Bid On Over-The-Counter Drug Maker

Actavis plc ACT is bidding against Sanofi SA SNY in an effort to acquire a Belgium-based over-the-counter drug maker, Omega Pharma NV, according to a report Monday.

Bloomberg, citing unnamed sources, said Omega could be worth up to $5.1 billion, with final offers expected next month.

Also bidding are Perrigo Co. plc and privately held Boehringer Ingelheim, according to Bloomberg.

Privately held Omega had $166 million in revenue for the first six months of 2014, up 60 percent from a year earlier, Bloomberg said.
