Gogo In Wi-Fi Service Pact With United Express

Gogo Inc GOGO gained nearly 5 percent after unveiling a contract to provide wireless service on 200 commercial aircraft operated by United Continental Holdings Inc's UAL regional carrier United Express.

Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Installation slated later this year will feature Gogo's air-to-ground-based 4 technology, which relies on terrestrial cell-phone towers.

United will test Gogo's satellite-based Wi-Fi on five of United's aircraft that operate between New York and Los Angeles and between New York and San Francisco.

Grupo Aeromexico SAB de CV signed Gogo's first contract for the satellite service in August, for installation on at least 58 aircraft.

Separately, Gogo, which hasn't yet turned a quarterly profit, said it will post third-quarter results November 10.

Gogo traded recently at $15.95, up 4.6 percent.
