LiqTech International, Inc. (NYSE MKT:
LIQT
) ("LiqTech") is pleased to announce that the Company received a $200,000 SiC membrane system order from a Danish customer to be delivered this year. The membrane system will be installed at a Danish power plant to remove heavy metals from a heat recovery process. This sale represents LiqTech's first commercial system sold to the energy industry as a joint supply effort by LiqTech and Provital, our recently acquired subsidiary. Mr. Sune Mathiesen, LiqTech CEO, remarked, "The sales process we have adopted in this case confirms the value of our new company structure. The direct approach to the end-user has enabled our sales force to propose the complete solution the customer is seeking and quickly modify the specifications to the customer's actual needs. The sales lead time, from initial contact to final sales, was only a couple of months, which is considered short for this industry." "We have previously proven the advantages and strengths of the SiC membrane solution for this application, having sold membranes for the first commercial systems in Germany earlier this year. This is our first commercial power plant installation in Denmark, and, by past experience, the reference to this sale should accelerate additional sales. We are currently in discussion with five additional Danish power plants regarding the same standardized solution and we expect more orders this year. It is a major focus of our sales strategy to exploit the opportunities for this application throughout our global sales network." "In this application, our SiC membrane system solution reduces the annual load of toxic heavy metals being discharged into our environment. In addition, the LiqTech solution enables the reuse of the treated water, which further reduces the impact on natural resources. Our solution is a great example of the benefits of SiC membranes compared to conventional technologies and competitor membrane products due to the unique capabilities of SiC membranes that combine high filtration efficiency with extremely robust physical properties," Mr. Mathiesen concluded.
