CytRx Announces Unexpected Passing Of Chairman Max Link, PhD

, a biopharmaceutical research and development company specializing in oncology, today announced Max E. Link, Ph.D., Chairman of the Board of Directors, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 74. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and colleague, and our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time," said Steven A. Kriegsman, CytRx President and Chief Executive Officer. "Max was a remarkable person and a visionary leader who believed deeply in helping patients. He leaves us having made an indelible mark on the pharmaceutical and biotech industries and on the lives of the many people he inspired, influenced and mentored. It was a great privilege to work with Max and he will be sorely missed." Dr. Link served on CytRx's Board of Directors since 1996 and as Chairman of the Board since 2002. Dr. Link held a Ph.D. in economics from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland).
