Duke Energy Renewable Services has signed five-year service agreements for two wind projects in Kewaunee County, Wis., owned by Madison Gas and Electric and Wisconsin Public Service. Duke began supplying each project with service and maintenance work on Sept. 24. "These contracts are a testimony to our growing footprint as a financially strong, safe and dependable services provider," said Greg Wolf, president of Duke Energy Renewables. "We are pleased to partner with successful wind power companies who share our commitment to safety, efficiency and environmental stewardship." The Lincoln Wind Energy Facility is a 9.2-megawatt project owned by Wisconsin Public Service and consists of 14 Vestas V47 turbines. The Rosiere wind project, owned by Madison Gas and Electric, generates 11.2 megawatts of power via 17 Vestas V47 turbines. Each project has been in service since 1999. "We look forward to partnering with Duke Renewable Services to ensure the continued exceptional operation of our Lincoln Wind Energy Facility," said Doug Bishop, maintenance manager of wind generation for Wisconsin Public Service. Duke Energy Renewables adds the Lincoln and Rosiere wind projects to a growing list of service agreements it has acquired this year. "Duke Energy Renewable Services has deep experience operating wind assets and procuring parts for its customers at competitive pricing," said Jeff Wehner, vice president of Duke Energy Renewables. "Our ability to leverage our operational experience and buying power allows us to provide cost-effective maintenance that result in greater performance and service value." "We are looking forward to working with our new operation and maintenance partner, DE Renewable Services, at the Rosiere Wind Farm," said Stephen Pitts, construction engineering manager for Madison Gas and Electric. Duke Energy Renewable Services is an organization resulting from Duke Energy's 2012 acquisition of Minnesota-based Outland Energy Services.
