US Stock Futures Edge Higher Ahead Of Wholesale Inventories Data - Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU)

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on wholesale inventories for July will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 16 points to 17,050.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 1.70 points to 1,991.40. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 6.25 points to 4,072.25.

European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index dropping 0.26%, STOXX Europe 600 Index falling 0.06%. German DAX 30 index rose 0.03%, French CAC 40 Index climbed 0.10% and London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.22%. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average gained 0.25%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dipped 1.93%, China's Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.35% and India's BSE Sensex dropped 0.76%.
