Tesla Motors Inc CEO Elon Musk Says Heart of Model S is Japanese -WSJ

Tesla Motors Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk, speaking in Japan Monday, said the "heart of the Model S is Japanese." The batteries for the Model S are made in Japan, due to a deal with Panasonic PCRFY. Musk said he expects Panasonic to contribute 30%-40% of the gigafactory in Nevada.

The first nine Model S cars were delivered to Japanese owners on Monday.
