Pre-open movers

US stock futures fell in early pre-market trade, ahead of jobs data. Data on nonfarm payroll employment for August will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled 62 points to 17,017.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 7.80 points to 1,990.00. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index dropped 11 points to 4,058.25.

European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index dropping 0.11%, STOXX Europe 600 Index falling 0.64%. German DAX 30 index dropped 0.25%, French CAC 40 Index fell 0.50% and London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.56%. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dropped 0.05%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.23%, China's Shanghai Composite Index surged 0.85% and India's BSE Sensex dropped 0.22%.
