Fed Extends Capital Plan Deadline Covering 4 Big Banks

Trading is mixed in the four big banks which obtained extended deadlines for resubmitting capital plans to regulators Monday. They include Citigroup, Inc.,

HSBC North America Holdings Inc.,
HSBC
privately held RBS Citizens Financial Group Inc., and Santander Holdings USA,

the Federal Reserve said. Their deadlines were extened to Jan. 5, from June 26 after the Fed lodged objections to each separately in January. All are barred from paying dividends until their plans get approved. Citigroup traded recently up 0.44 percent to $48.27; HSBC changed hands down 0.41 percent at $51.44 and Santander gained 0.28 percent to $10.62. Zions Bancorp

was also slated to resubmit a plan to regulators but hasn't requestioned an extended deadline. Bank of America Corp.
BAC
resubmitted its plan in May after it discovered a $4 billion error on its books.
