5 Things You Didn't Know About Twitter CEO Dick Costolo

Most will, of course, recognize Dick Costolo for his time at microblogging magnate Twitter — first as COO and then CEO. What you might not know is that he founded two digital media companies in Chicago, and he was an improv performer with the Annoyance Theater. Costolo took the time to answer some questions for Benzinga and gave us a couple of other unique facts about himself.
His first job was in retail
After college, Costolo worked behind the counter of a Crate and Barrell in Chicago.
His leadership philosophy emphasizes transparency
“Make sure everyone understands what you understand,” he said. “Make sure everyone has context for why it's important to achieve what you must achieve.”
He relaxes with fitness
He mostly does Crossfit and mountain biking.

“The more you scale your company, the more time you need to leave unscheduled during the day in order to listen and think,” he said.
He eats a lot for breakfast
Costolo said usually has eggs, bacon and potatoes or greek yogurt with berries and walnuts.
