Cimarex Energy Co (NYSE: XEC) shares surged 12.51% to $135.01 on better-than-expected Q1 results. The company also signed an agreement to acquire Cana-Woodford assets for $249 million.

Mondelez International (NASDAQ: MDLZ) gained 9% to $38.39 after the company and D.E. Master Blenders 1753 B.V. announced plans to combine their coffee businesses. Mondelez reported its Q1 earnings of $0.39 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $0.35 per share.

Canadian Solar (NASDAQ: CSIQ) gained 4.78% to $28.28 after the company raised its Q1 sales forecast to $460.00 million to $470.00 million versus $415.00 million to $430.00 million.

Central European Media Enterprises (NASDAQ: CETV) shares rose 4.48% to $2.80 on Q1 results. Central European Media posted a quarterly net loss of US$48.6 million, versus a loss of US$109.0 million in 2013
