Dr Pepper Snapple Group (NYSE: DPS) shares rose 3.72% to $54.34 after the company reported upbeat Q1 earnings. Dr Pepper Snapple reported earnings of $0.74 per share on revenue of $1.40 billion.

Gilead Sciences (NASDAQ: GILD) shares rose 2.91% to $74.98 after the company reported better-than-expected first-quarter results and announced strong sales of its hepatitis C drug.

Yum! Brands (NYSE: YUM) climbed 2.58% to $79.48 after the company reported better-than-expected first-quarter earnings. Yum posted its adjusted net income of $0.87 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $0.84 per share.
