Leidos
, a national
security, health and engineering solutions company, was awarded a prime
contract by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Support Agency
(NSPA) to manage the NATO Fuel Monitoring System (NFMS). The single-award,
firm-fixed-price contract has a ten-month base period of performance, five
one-year options, and a total value of approximately $13 million, if all
options are exercised. Varec Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leidos, will
perform work at various locations outside the continental United States.

The NSPA is NATO's integrated logistics and services provider agency that
brings together logistics and procurement support activities, providing
integrated multinational support solutions for its stakeholders. Under the
contract, Varec will provide activities to manage, implement, test and
maintain the NATO NFMS, which assists with the management of petroleum oils
and lubricants sales, fuel inventory, and governance. The NFMS will consist of
enterprise and facility level subsystems. The implementation of an enterprise
NFMS subsystem on a central server will collect inventory and fuel transaction
data from each of the NFMS clients at NATO military installations.
"The contract provides an opportunity to deploy several significant new
capabilities for NFMS including a new enterprise mobile application for
automatic data collection of fuel sale, receipt and shipment information,"
said Tim Archer, chief technology officer at Varec, Inc.
Other capabilities include an enterprise data synchronization technology that
automatically exchanges data through the Internet between servers distributed
in theatre and enterprise server; and a new enterprise mobile application that
will be deployed for automatic data collection of fuel sale, receipt and
shipment information. In addition, an integrated vehicle tracking solution
will monitor the movement of fuel within the theatre of operations using GPS
and mapping technologies.
"Leidos is proud to provide innovative solutions to support key elements of
the capabilities of the NATO Support Agency in fuel management and
operations," said Larry Hill, Leidos group president.
