Costco Posts Upbeat December Comparable Sales

reported upbeat same-store sales for December. Costco's sales at stores open at least a year climbed 3% in the month, versus analysts' expectations for a 1.8% gain. Costco's December net sales jumped 6% to $11.53 billion. Excluding the impact of foreign exchange and fuel sales, its same-store sales gained 5% in December. Costco shares closed at $114.05 yesterday.
