TLM shares are on the move after hours Monday, up around 7 percent, following some action from Carl Icahn.
A post-market 13D filing from Icahn showed he now owns a 5.97 percent stake in the company, making him the second largest stakeholder in the company.
Just a few minutes after the SEC filing was released, Icahn tweeted: “Disclosed approx 61 million share position in Talisman Energy. May have conversations with mgmt re strategic alternatives, board seats, etc.”
Icahn's filing allows for discussion with Talisman's management, including a variety of corporate activities: restructuring, board representation and strategic alternatives.
Shares of Talisman Energy last traded at $13.69.
