today announced the acquisition of R. W. Scobie, Inc. headquartered in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Founded in 1932, R. W. Scobie, Inc. (Scobie) is a managing general agent and wholesale insurance broker which provides excess and surplus, property/casualty, professional business liability and other specialty insurance products and services to their independent insurance agent and broker clients throughout United States.   Peter Scobie, Robert Giles and their associates will continue to operate from their locations in Eau Claire; Minneapolis, Minnesota; New Albany, Indiana; West Des Moines, Iowa; Omaha, Nebraska; and Waukesha, Wisconsin under the direction of Joel Cavaness, President of Risk Placement Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
