was recently awarded a Lot 14 order valued at $21.7 million for Multifunctional Information Distribution System - Low Volume Terminals (MIDS-LVT) for the U.S. Government, Australia, Oman, and Thailand. The orders resulted from a competitive procurement through the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) and were awarded under the MIDS Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract initially executed in March 2010. These MIDS-LVT airborne terminals are for U.S. Government aircraft as well as over 50% to FMS sales. "This Lot 14 award recognizes our exceptional delivery and terminal maintenance performance," said Jay Kaufman, general manager, ViaSat Tactical Data Links. "The award also extends our high-quality terminals and support services to our growing family of international customers." MIDS-LVT forms the backbone of the Link-16 network across the US DOD and the international coalition. Core terminal functions include not only Link-16 data, but secure voice, and TACAN capabilities on select terminals.
