today announced effective immediately that the Weyerhaeuser tree farms in the counties of Chelan, Clark, Cowlitz, Kittitas, Klickitat, and Skamania will be closed to public access due to the extreme forest fire danger. The closure will remain in effect until the operating areas receive adequate rainfall and the temperatures improve. The company has also placed a number of limitations on its remaining tree farms in Washington and is considering additional closures if the forest fire danger continues to increase in the coming weeks. Visitors planning a trip to Weyerhaeuser forestlands in Washington are reminded to call the company's statewide, toll-free telephone number before heading out to the woods.
