US Stock Futures Up; Alcoa Earnings In Focus

US stock futures are higher this morning, as investors are awaiting earnings from Alcoa

. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 75 points to 15,151.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 9.50 points to 1,636.80. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 19.25 points to 2,975.75. US stocks closed higher on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 0.98% to 15,135.84, the S&P 500 index rising 1.02% to 1,631.89 and the Nasdaq 100 index gaining 1.04% to 3,479.38. The TD Ameritrade IMX for June will be released at 12:30 p.m. ET, while consumer credit data for May will be released at 3:00 p.m. ET. Kid Brands

announced the resignation of its Chief Financial Officer James Christl. The company appointed Chief Operating Officer Kerry Carr as CFO. is projected to report its Q3 earnings at $0.56 per share on revenue of $89.45 million. European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 1.35%, London's FTSE 100 index gained 0.50%, French CAC 40 Index climbed 1.76% and German DAX 30 index rose 2.24%. Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dropping 1.40%, China's Shanghai Composite falling 2.44% and Australia's ASX/S&P500 dropping 0.60%. Hong Kong's Heng Seng Index declined 1.31% and India's Sensex tumbled 0.97%. Japan's current-account surplus shrank in May, according to the Finance Ministry.
