US Stock Futures Up Ahead Of Consumer Data
US stock futures are higher this morning, as investors are awaiting consumer data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 46 points to 14,982.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 5.80 points to 1,612.40. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 10 points to 2,909.50.
US stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 0.77% to 15,024.49, the S&P 500 index gaining 0.62% to 1,613.20 and the Nasdaq 100 index rising 0.76% to 3,401.86.
The Chicago PMI for June will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET, while the Reuter's/University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index for June will be released at9:55 a.m. ET.
Nike (NYSE: NKE) reported upbeat fiscal fourth-quarter results. The company's revenue in North American market climbed 12%, while revenue in China was flat versus the year-earlier period.
Adobe Systems (NASDAQ: ADBE) announced its plans to acquire privately-held Neolane for around $600 million in cash.
Accenture PLC (NYSE: ACN) reported a rise in its fiscal third-quarter net income. However, the company lowered its forecast for the fiscal year.
BlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY) is estimated to report its Q1 earnings at $0.04 per share. Finish Line (NASDAQ: FINL) is projected to report its Q1 earnings at $0.16 per share on revenue of $344.22 million.
AZZ (NYSE: AZZ) is expected to report its Q1 earnings at $0.63 per share on revenue of $197.08 million.
European markets were mostly lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index declined 0.15%, London's FTSE 100 index gained 0.11%, French CAC 40 Index dropped 0.51% and German DAX 30 index fell 0.10%.
Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average jumping 3.51%, China's Shanghai Composite surging 1.50% and Australia's ASX/S&P500 falling 0.20%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 1.78% and India's Sensex surged 2.52%.
